Mission The Queer and Trans Wellness Clinic @ SLU seeks to be a safe haven and advocate with the LGBTQIA+ community of Missouri. We strive to promote flourishing for LGBTQIA+ people that builds a life and world worth living in.

Objectives The Queer and Trans Wellness Clinic @ SLU provides financially accessible, culturally-attuned therapeutic care for the LGBTQIA+ community and their families of Missouri.

  • Provide sex positive, LGBTQIA+ affirming mental health services
  • Work with families and partners of LGBTQIA+ people for increasing acceptance, connection, and support
  • Reach LGBTQIA+ people throughout Missouri with telehealth services
  • Advocate for LGBTQIA+ people through changes in policy, research, social structures, and resource building

Other Info Started in April 2019. Is neither Catholic nor Jesuit despite being housed at and fully supported by SLU. Dr. Katie Heiden-Rootes is the supervisor of the clinic.
