St. Martha's Hall & Drop-In Center

St. Martha’s Hall is a confidential emergency shelter for abused women and their children. Services offered: ·Emergency Shelter (up to 12 weeks) ·Crisis intervention & support services, follow-up ·Individual & group therapy, support groups ·Food, clothing ·Emergency Medical care ·Support groups, parenting groups ·Legal/court advocacy ·Remote access to apply for orders of protection ·Safety planning ·Referrals to community agencies (housing assistance, shelter, legal, etc.) ·Information and support for family & friends ·Domestic Violence Training ·Life Coaching ·Safe at Home Structured program for children ·Pet Protection ·Emergency transportation ·Housing advocacy Info on Drop-In Center: Mar 9, 2022: "We know that many people in crisis aren’t seeking emergency shelter but are looking for information and referrals and compassionate support. It will also provide education and support for family and friends of loved ones struggling with domestic violence and unsure of how to help. Advocates will be available during the Drop-In hours to provide immediate services and support to anyone impacted by domestic violence, seeking resources and information, or questioning unhealthy aspects of their relationships.

The Women's Safe House

Provides safe shelter and transitional living services to battered women and their dependent children, to empower women to make informed choices about their futures. Founded in 1922, TWSH is the first domestic violence shelter in St. Louis. It is also the largest in St. Louis. Utilizes restorative justice practices. Maximum length of stay is client dependent. Services: - Shelter & meals - After-care program - Court advocacy - Housing advocacy and referrals - Living skills, financial literacy and parenting classes - On-site nurse - Professional therapy for women and children - Structured program for children - Support groups for women and children shelter residents - Limited transportation

Alternatives to Living in Violent Environments (ALIVE)

ALIVE provides free services domestic abuse survivors of all genders. __Services__ - 24/7 crisis hotline - temporary emergency transportation and safe shelter, including motels placements if shelters are full or not a good fit - individual counseling for adults and children - support groups - legal advocacy "ALIVE’s services are available to all domestic violence survivors, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, ability, age, or socioeconomic means. Because traditional area domestic violence shelters may be unable to serve male and/or LGBTQ+ victims, ALIVE is unique in its ability to address intimate partner violence in all relationships and communities. ALIVE can provide many direct services to LGBTQ+ victims of domestic abuse, including crisis intervention, safety planning, Nights of Safety emergency shelter, adult and child counseling, court advocacy, and referrals. In addition to direct services, ALIVE can provide education services for community and professional groups interested in learning more about intimate partner violence and/or hate crimes in the LGBTQ+ community."

Kansas City Anti-Violence Project (KCAVP)

KCAVP was an organization providing domestic violence, sexual assault, and hate crimes advocacy and education to the LGBTQIA+ community. KCAVP provides support and services to LGBTQIA+ (includes questioning) victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and hate violence in the region, with a home base in the Kansas City area and services throughout Missouri. It is currently the only LGBTQ-specific domestic violence or sexual assault services in Missouri. Services: - 24-Hour Crisis Hotline (with certified interpreters) - Case Management and Advocacy - Free Counseling Services/Therapy - Emergency Assistance and Housing (including transportation, food, and other necessities) - Incident Documentation All services are __free and confidential__. Also runs Passages Youth Support Group, an affirming, safe, and welcoming weekly space for LGBTQIA+ teens (ages 13-17) to connect with their peers and build their network of support.

A Safe Place will assure survivors and their children a comprehensive treatment process in a safe and secure environment in Jefferson County. Services provided: emergency and residential shelter, therapy, and support groups. Accessibility: Accepts women, trans individuals, and children.
